At the title screen, press Plus button, 1 button and 2 button at the same time to access the Debug Menu.
While in the Debug Menu, you can choose which character and weapons you can have, you can toggle whether you get hurt by enemies, and there's even a Stage Select. You can also access test levels and a sound test.
